Dental Hygienist - Chevy Chase Dental Care - Chevy Chase, MD

Overview We are a small dental office, a one dental provider office, and we are ready to add a hygienist to our team! We are open 4 days a week and looking for a hygienist to start 1 day a week and grow into more and more days. I will work with the hygienist to make sure that the schedule will be a good fit for their expectations. I want to harbor a collaborative environment to provide great comprehensive care for our patients. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions to inform treatment plans. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to their individual needs. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Review and update medical records accurately within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Monitor patient vital signs before, during, and after treatments to ensure safety and well-being throughout appointments. Requirements Valid Dental Hygiene license with current state certification. Proven experience in dental office settings, particularly in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments. Proficiency with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques. Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices is a plus; experience working with children is highly valued. Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
