Job Summary â Periodontist We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Periodontist to join our established, patient-centered dental practice. The ideal candidate will have expertise in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of periodontal disease, as well as advanced clinical experience in dental implants, soft tissue procedures, and regenerative therapies . Our practice is fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology , including an in-house fully functioning dental lab, laser technology, PRF, and CBCT imaging . Our Rockville location is sedation licensed , allowing for comprehensive treatment planning and enhanced patient comfort. Duties Diagnose and treat periodontal diseases through non-surgical and surgical interventions, including dental implants, gum grafts, and pocket reduction procedures Perform complex procedures such as dental extractions, and oral surgery related to periodontal health Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques Develop individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive patient evaluations and clinical findings Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and office protocols Collaborate with general dentists and specialists to coordinate comprehensive patient care Ensure strict infection control practices using aseptic techniques during all procedures Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, disease prevention, and post-treatment care to promote optimal oral health outcomes Stay current with advancements in periodontics by participating in professional development activities Qualifications DDS or DMD degree from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice dentistry in the state Specialized training or certification in periodontics is required Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical records management, infection control protocols, and anatomy knowledge related to the oral cavity Demonstrated ability to perform perio surgeries, dental extractions, and other complex procedures with precision Excellent patient care skills with a compassionate approach to treatment planning and communication Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical documentation standards within a dental setting Ability to work effectively within a team environment that emphasizes four-handed dentistry techniques This position offers an engaging opportunity for a dedicated Periodontist committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care while advancing their professional skills within a supportive practice environment.
