Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient care, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Prior experience with dental software and procedures is highly valued, and the position requires adherence to strict infection control protocols and HIPAA regulations. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic techniques are maintained. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, adhering to safety standards. Record vital signs and medical history updates for patients in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix. Manage medical documentation, records, and coding accurately within electronic health record systems while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices. Support front desk duties as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as a dental receptionist. Maintain infection control standards and ensure all equipment is sterilized according to industry guidelines. Assist with medical imaging and other clinical tasks related to dental assisting and chairside support. Collaborate with the team using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during patient care. Skills Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix or similar platforms. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control protocols. Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, medical imaging, and vital signs measurement. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently in general dentistry settings as well as specialized fields like prosthodontics and endodontics. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection prevention practices. Excellent communication skills suitable for working with pediatric patients and their families. Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment utilizing four-handed dentistry methods for optimal patient care.
