Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient workflow, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with exposure to various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Experience with Dentrix is highly valued. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in assisting with dental procedures, managing patient records, and supporting the overall operations of the clinic. Pay is based on experience. Minimum of 30 hours with some evenings required. Duties Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control protocols are followed. Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy. Record vital signs and medical histories accurately within electronic medical records in Dentrix. Provide chairside assistance during a variety of dental treatments including restorations, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care procedures. Manage medical documentation and ensure accurate coding for insurance claims and patient records. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments following infection control standards. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow when needed. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred; familiarity with general dentistry procedures is essential. Proficiency with Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and infection control practices is required. Experience assisting with pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus. Certification in X-ray technology or radiography is preferred but not mandatory. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and medical coding enhances candidate suitability. Previous experience in chairside assisting across multiple specialties including prosthodontics and endodontics will be advantageous.
