Overview We are seeking a highly organized and patient-focused Dental Front Office & Hygiene Coordinator to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills, dental terminology knowledge, and experience with various Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management systems. This role is essential in ensuring smooth clinic operations, excellent patient service, and accurate documentation. Prior clinic or dental office experience, and insurance verification, is highly valued. Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations. Core Skills: Strong communication and organizational abilities with professional phone etiquette. Proficient in scheduling, administrative coordination, and patient communication. Appointment Management: Book, reschedule, and cancel appointments to optimize the hygiene schedule. Ensure insurance is attached for all hygiene appointments; if unavailable, promptly notify the patient. Verify that all hygiene appointments have the correct procedures attached in the appointment book. Patient Communication & Confirmations: Confirm hygiene appointments via phone or email two days in advance. Clearly review scheduled procedures with patients and inform them of any outstanding balances or co-pays due. Contact patients with overdue or missed appointments and send reminders to encourage re-appointments. Insurance Verification & Documentation: Verify insurance benefits, coverage, and co-pays prior to treatment. Utilize the designated insurance verification service to input benefit breakdowns into Dentrix. When electronic service is unavailable, manually enter and update insurance breakdowns accurately in Dentrix. Treatment Planning & Financial Coordination: When needed, explain treatment plans and financial estimates to patients. Discuss payment plan options to ensure clarity and comfort with treatment costs. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the dental team to manage patient flow and maintain schedule efficiency. Provide assistance with front office tasks and support overall office operations as needed. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Work Location: In person
