Hill Country Dental is a locally owned small group dental practice with two locations in New Braunfels. We are excited with all the recent growth in our area and are looking for a dedicated dental assistant to become part of our team making a difference in the lives of our patients and building each other up in a positive work atmosphere. Our hours are: Mon., Tues., Thurs. from 8 am-5 pm, Wed. from 7:30 am-3:30 pm & occasional Fridays 8 am-1 pm. We never work evenings or weekends! Duties Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare patients for treatment by taking vital signs, medical history, and explaining procedures clearly. Operate and manage dental imaging equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols. Maintain accurate medical documentation and records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Ensure aseptic technique and infection control standards are strictly followed to maintain a sterile environment. Provide patient education on oral health care, post-treatment instructions, and preventive measures. Manage coding and present treatment plans. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments, updating medical records, and assisting with front desk duties when necessary. Assist with complex procedures in specialties such as prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics by preparing materials and assisting with medical imaging. Monitor patient comfort throughout treatment by assisting with anesthesia administration and managing chairside supplies efficiently. Experience Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting, preferably with exposure to general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics. Familiarity with dental software systems including Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar EMR platforms. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient privacy. Experience operating X-ray equipment and 3D scanners in compliance with safety standards. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with complex dental procedures confidently.
