Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring efficient clinic operations, and maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient safety. Prior experience with dental software systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with a strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and ensuring aseptic techniques are followed. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray), ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are adhered to. Record vital signs, medical history, and other relevant patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Educate patients on oral health care instructions and post-treatment care. Assist with medical imaging procedures including 3D scanning when applicable. Maintain infection control standards by following sterilization procedures and proper handling of dental materials. Support administrative tasks such as verifying insurance information, processing medical coding, and managing dental records. Qualifications Prior experience in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently during general dentistry procedures including endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Experience with X-ray techniques and pediatric dentistry procedures is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards. Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients effectively. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training is desirable but not mandatory for all roles.
