As our Lead Dental Assistant, you will help ensure smooth daily operations, support the dentist during all procedures, and create a positive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. This role is key to maintaining our high standards of care and shaping the culture of our clinical team. Responsibilities Assist the dentist with all clinical procedures, utilizing four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and patient comfort Maintain excellent patient flow and coordinate daily clinic operations Prepare and organize treatment rooms with required instruments, materials, and technology Uphold top-tier infection control and aseptic standards, following OSHA and CDC guidelines Capture and process dental imaging, including X-rays and 3D scans (CBCT), ensuring accurate documentation Record vital signs and maintain thorough, compliant clinical notes in EMR systems (Eaglesoft preferred; experience with Dentrix/Epic is also valuable) Educate patients and parents on procedures, home-care instructions, and oral health best practices Oversee sterilization systems, equipment maintenance, and safety protocols Mentor and support junior dental assistants, fostering teamwork and continuous improvement Assist with scheduling, treatment planning support, and administrative tasks as needed Help integrate new technologies, materials, and workflows as FRESA SMILES continues to innovate and grow Support both general and pediatric dentistry workflows with professionalism and empathy Qualifications Experience as a Dental Assistant; leadership or senior-level responsibilities strongly preferred Strong background in general dentistry; experience in pediatric dentistry is a plus Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Proficiency in Open Dental or similar dental EMR systems Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, sterilization standards, and infection control protocols Skilled in operating dental imaging equipment, including digital X-ray units and 3D scanning systems Current radiography certification (required) Additional certifications (pediatric care, coronal polishing, sealants, etc.) are a plus Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care Strong organizational ability with attention to detail when handling clinical documentation Leadership temperament with the ability to train, support, and inspire other team members Join FRESA SMILES⢠If youâre passionate about delivering exceptional care, mentoring others, and helping shape a positive, high-energy dental environment, weâd love to meet you.
