Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dedicated dental team. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, while ensuring patient comfort and safety Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs and medical histories in accordance with HIPAA regulations Assist with chairside procedures, including four-handed dentistry techniques and medical imaging Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and treatment plans tailored to their needs Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix Support infection control protocols through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness Collaborate with dentists on treatment planning, especially in pediatric dentistry cases Monitor patient responses during procedures, ensuring safety and comfort at all times Stay informed about dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and current best practices in general dentistry Qualifications Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations Proven experience in dental office settings, with familiarity in dental clinic operations and documentation review Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar platforms Strong knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures Experience working with pediatric patients and in pediatric dentistry preferred Ability to perform vital signs measurement, medical imaging, and patient assessment accurately Knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and health information privacy laws (HIPAA) Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations Familiarity with dental assisting duties including chairside assisting and documentation review is a plus This position is integral to delivering comprehensive oral healthcare while fostering a positive patient experience.
