Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Chesapeake, VA
Vacendak Dentistry has an opening for a Dental Hygienist position. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic team-member with a positive attitude who can fulfill the role of dental hygienist team member in our growing practice. Your Role as Dental Hygienist includes but is not limited to: Removes calculus deposits and stains from teeth using dental instruments. Examines the gingiva using probes to determine periodontal status. Performs head and neck exams and identifies areas of potential pathology. Applies fluorides or other cavity-preventing agents to arrest dental decay. Applies sealants. Exposes radiographs and identifies areas of potential pathology. Records and reviews patient medical histories. Charts conditions of decay and disease for diagnosis and treatment by dentist. Maintains dental equipment and sharpens and sterilizes dental instruments. Provides clinical services or health education to improve and maintain the oral health of patients or the general public. Qualified candidates will have: Dental hygiene certification from accredited dental hygiene school Current hygiene license in Virginia Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, BLS and infection control training as required by law Experience with Dentrix Ascend a plus Local anesthesia and Laser certified Uses Loupes and Light The ideal candidate will be a team player, reliable, and have the ability to multi-task and prioritize.
