Responsibilities Conduct thorough dental cleanings and examinations to assess patient oral health. Take and record vital signs to monitor patient health during visits. Assist the dentist with four-handed dentistry techniques during procedures. Provide exceptional patient care by educating patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care. Maintain accurate medical records and document patient treatments using Open Dental software. Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients. Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans and follow-up care. Stay updated on dental terminology and best practices to enhance patient interactions. Requirements Valid North Carolina Dental Hygienist license. Experience in general dentistry is preferred; familiarity with pediatrics is a plus. Proficient in taking vital signs and understanding their implications for patient care. Knowledge of four-handed dentistry techniques and assisting procedures. Strong understanding of medical records management, particularly using Open Dental software. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively educate patients. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism. Commitment to providing compassionate care to all patients.
