Job Overview Sunday 8:30am-3:30pm 2 Sundays/month We are a boutique office so individualized care is key! We are not a high volume mill! Experience is a must! Organization skills are a must as well (We don’t do impressions and don’t make retainers in the office!!) We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care and support during orthodontic procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental assisting practices, as well as proficiency in various dental systems and technologies. Responsibilities Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and optimal patient comfort. Prepare and maintain the treatment area, including sterilization of instruments and adherence to aseptic techniques. Utilize 3D scanners for imaging and assist in the creation of orthodontic appliances. Manage patient records accurately using systems such as Dentrix and Epic, ensuring all medical records are up-to-date. Perform X-ray imaging as required, following safety protocols and guidelines. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Support four-handed dentistry by anticipating the needs of the orthodontist during procedures. Maintain inventory of dental supplies and assist in ordering when necessary. Experience Previous experience in dental assisting is preferred, with a focus on orthodontics being a significant advantage. Familiarity with dental software systems such as Dentrix and Epic is highly desirable. Proficiency in using 3D scanners and performing X-ray imaging is beneficial. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment are essential for success in this role.
