Dental Hygienist â Independent Practice Model - Hart Dental Hygiene - Pueblo, CO
Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Pueblo, CO

POSITION OVERVIEW Read before applying This is not a standard hygiene position. If you want a predictable, employee-style role where youâre told what to do each day, this is not the role. If you want autonomy, ownership, and unlimited income tied to performance , keep reading. This Role IS For You If: You think like a business owner , not an employee You understand that patients stay because of relationships You take responsibility for your schedule, retention, and results You are comfortable leading assistants and influencing patient experience You want freedom and structure (not chaos) At HDH, hygienists operate with independence, but not isolation. Independent does NOT mean independent of a dentist. It means independent in thinking, ownership, and accountability . In this model, independence means: Autonomy You practice fully within your licensed scope You make clinical decisions you are legally authorized to make You manage your schedule, patient flow, and standards of care with intention You do not rely on others to create structure, motivation, or momentum for you If you need someone else to constantly direct, remind, or manage your performance, this role is not a fit. Ownership You treat your schedule like a business asset, not a timecard You understand that patient retention, re-care, and production are your responsibility You care deeply about outcomes â patient experience, trust, and continuity You feel patient loss personally and work to correct it This is not an âI just show up and clean teethâ role. Accountability Your income reflects your effort, consistency, and connection with patients You take responsibility when numbers drop â you donât blame the system, the schedule, or the front desk You communicate early, clearly, and professionally You follow through on commitments without being chased There is no safety net here. Independence rewards execution and exposes disengagement. This Role Is NOT For You If You want the title of âindependentâ without the responsibility You prefer clock-in / clock-out thinking You expect someone else to fill your schedule, build your patient base, or protect your income when there are gaps You avoid hard conversations, feedback, or self-reflection You believe âgood enoughâ should still produce great results ABOUT US Our mission is to empower dental hygienists to achieve business ownership and create thriving practices that deliver exceptional patient care while increasing access to preventive oral healthcare in our communities.
