Experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant – Join Our Kid-Focused, Compassionate Team! (Full-Time / Part-Time Considered). Our warm, upbeat, pediatric dental office is looking for an experienced Pediatric Dental Assistant who genuinely loves working with children and families. Please note: Applicants must have prior hands-on experience working in a pediatric dental office. Experience in general dentistry or other dental specialties alone will not meet the requirements for this role. This position is ideal for someone who is energetic, cheerful, nurturing, and highly skilled clinically. Our assistants play a critical role in helping children feel comfortable while supporting efficient, high-quality dental care. We see many children with varying personalities, dental anxieties, and special healthcare needs, including patients on the autism spectrum. The ideal candidate is confident using pediatric behavior guidance techniques and can help create calm, positive dental experiences for every child. Key Responsibilities - Chairside assisting during pediatric dental procedures - Taking high-quality, diagnostic dental radiographs (x-rays) safely and efficiently - Using pediatric behavior guidance techniques such as: - Tell-Show-Do - Positive reinforcement - Age-appropriate communication - Desensitization and comfort strategies - Helping children feel safe, relaxed, and encouraged during visits - Preparing and sterilizing instruments and treatment rooms according to OSHA and infection control standards - Supporting patient flow and maintaining efficient clinical operations - Accurately documenting patient treatment and notes - Collaborating closely with doctors and team members to maintain a supportive, positive workplace culture - Providing excellent customer service and building trust with parents and caregivers . Required Qualifications - Proven experience working in a pediatric dental office- Strong proficiency in taking pediatric dental x-rays - Comfortable and confident working with young children, including anxious patients- Experience or comfort working with children with special healthcare needs, including autism spectrum disorders - Friendly, patient, and compassionate personality- Excellent communication and teamwork skills- Strong multitasking and organizational abilities- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
