Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the dental team by providing exceptional chairside assistance, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe clinical environment. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic techniques are followed. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Record vital signs and medical history of patients accurately using EMR systems such as Dentrix. Manage patient flow by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and updating medical records efficiently. Maintain infection control protocols and sterilize instruments according to industry standards. Provide patient education on dental procedures, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care. Support the dental team with administrative tasks such as medical documentation and coding as needed. Assist with medical imaging and other diagnostic procedures to ensure comprehensive patient care. Demonstrate knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency with systems such as Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry or specialized fields like prosthodontics or pediatrics is advantageous. Familiarity with X-ray procedures, medical imaging technology including 3D scanners, and dental terminology is beneficial. Certification in dental assisting or related coursework is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates committed to learning. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for providing outstanding patient care within a professional dental environment.
