Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full-Time Dental Assistant to join our modern dental practice. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations, enhance patient care, and ensure the smooth functioning of daily dental procedures. Experience with EMR systems, Open Dental, Dentrix, and HIPAA compliance is highly valued. This role offers an excellent opportunity to grow within a comprehensive dental team specializing in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. The Dental Assistant will be responsible for providing chairside assistance, managing medical documentation, and maintaining infection control protocols to deliver exceptional patient experiences. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, and prosthodontic treatments. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards. Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines and 3D scanners while adhering to safety protocols. Take vital signs and medical history of patients; record medical documentation accurately in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Provide chairside assistance with dental terminology, medical imaging, and medical coding as needed. Manage patient records ensuring HIPAA compliance; update and maintain accurate medical records and documentation. Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments similar to a dental receptionist role. Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions. Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control guidelines. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient clinic operations using Epic or other electronic health record systems. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting with knowledge of general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics preferred. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical documentation and coding is advantageous. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely; experience with 3D scanners and vital signs monitoring is a plus. Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and medical imaging techniques. Excellent communication skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment providing four-handed dentistry support. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training preferred; prior experience with pediatric patients is a plus.
