Duties Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all materials are ready for procedures Assist dentists during a variety of treatments including restorations, extractions, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning Manage patient records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy Perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and comfort during procedures Monitor vital signs and assist with medical documentation when necessary, especially in pediatric or medically complex cases Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to promote ongoing wellness Skills Proficiency with dental software platforms such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for scheduling, documentation, and record management Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, aseptic technique, and medical coding standards Experience with medical documentation including medical records management and understanding of HIPAA regulations Skilled in taking X-rays and operating 3D scanners for comprehensive diagnostics in general dentistry and specialized fields like prosthodontics or endodontics Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with medical imaging procedures in pediatric dentistry settings Excellent communication skills as a dental receptionist to coordinate appointments and address patient inquiries effectively Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices to deliver compassionate care tailored to childrenâs needs Join us as a Dental Assistant where your enthusiasm meets your expertise!
