Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth clinic operations, delivering quality dental services, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring efficient workflow. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up necessary supplies, and maintaining aseptic techniques in accordance with infection control protocols. Take and develop dental X-rays using advanced equipment such as 3D scanners and digital imaging systems while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Manage patient records by accurately updating medical records, documenting procedures, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support administrative functions as a dental receptionist by scheduling appointments, managing patient flow, and maintaining organized medical documentation within EMR systems like Dentrix or Epic. Monitor vital signs of patients when necessary to ensure their safety during procedures. Maintain knowledge of dental terminology and anatomy to effectively communicate with patients and team members. Assist with medical coding and billing processes related to dental procedures to ensure accurate insurance claims processing. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Dental Assistant within a busy dental clinic environment. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation. Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with dental imaging equipment including X-ray machines and 3D scanners. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and clinical procedures across general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Experience with medical documentation, coding, HIPAA compliance, and medical records management is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team focused on delivering outstanding patient experiences.
