Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform comprehensive dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining optimal oral health for patients of all ages. This role requires a thorough understanding of dental procedures, infection control protocols, and patient assessment techniques. The Registered Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to deliver high-quality services in a fast-paced, professional environment. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct oral health assessments and review medical histories with patients to identify potential issues. Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, and respiration rates. Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while ensuring proper safety protocols. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide personalized recommendations for maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Prepare treatment rooms for procedures following aseptic techniques and infection control standards. Document patient care activities accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Support pediatric dentistry procedures when applicable, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients. Collaborate with dentists during chairside assisting, including passing instruments and managing patient comfort. Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards. Maintain knowledge of general dentistry procedures, medical coding, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience Valid license as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations. Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry, four-handed dentistry techniques, and infection control protocols is advantageous. Knowledge of anatomy, medical imaging, vital signs monitoring, and documentation review enhances patient care delivery. Experience with dental assisting tasks and understanding of medical records management is beneficial.
