Overview We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in dental hygiene practices, with a focus on patient care, infection control, and clinical procedures. Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health. Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols. Assist with chairside procedures such as four-handed dentistry, providing support to dentists during various treatments. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate and detailed medical documentation within electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Monitor vital signs and assess patient health status prior to procedures, ensuring safety and compliance with HIPAA regulations. Implement infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination within the clinic environment. Support pediatric dentistry procedures by creating a welcoming atmosphere for young patients and understanding pediatric-specific needs. Operate dental imaging equipment, including 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools, for comprehensive diagnostics. Collaborate with the dental team to ensure seamless clinic operations, including managing medical records and assisting with administrative tasks like dental receptionist duties when needed. Experience Proven experience working in a busy dental clinic environment with familiarity in general dentistry procedures. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dental care. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for efficient documentation and record keeping. Hands-on experience in pediatric dentistry and proficiency in handling young patients comfortably. Skilled in X-ray techniques, medical coding, and maintaining infection control standards aligned with OSHA guidelines. Knowledge of prosthodontics, endodontics, and other specialty areas enhances patient care capabilities. Familiarity with medical documentation practices including medical records management and medical coding processes. Ability to work effectively within a team practicing four-handed dentistry principles to optimize patient outcomes.
