Dental Hygienist - Paxtang Family Dentistry, Inc - Harrisburg, PA

Single doctor practice looking to expand our hygiene department. We are looking for a part or full time hygienist to help our practice grow. Required: PA dental hygiene license, PA child abuse clearances, Current CPR certification Responsibilities 1. Provide oral or written pre-operative and post-operative treatment instructions. 2. Review patient charts prior to appointments, update health histories and document blood pressure and other information that may affect treatments. 3. Provide periodontal treatments to include scaling, root planing, curettage, periodontal charting and polishing. 4. Take and develop extra and intra oral radiographs as treatment indicates. 5. Provide periodontal health education through demonstration and appropriate literature. 6. Document services rendered and other related information in patients' charts following each appointment and chart necessary future dental treatments as dictated by the Physician during examinations. 7. Maintain and perform proper upkeep of operatory equipment at all times to include: - general cleaning - sharpening and sterilizing hand instruments - disinfecting operatories between appointments 8. Clean treatment areas at the end of each day to include flushing the evacuation system, emptying trash and preparing treatment rooms for the following business day. 9. Remain aware of supply/stock levels available in the office, and communicate effectively with co-workers to place orders. 10. Provide support to office personnel when primary responsibilities are completed and perform other related duties as assigned.
