Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control protocols are followed, and support the overall efficiency of the clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, medical documentation, and patient care, with a focus on pediatric and general dentistry. The Dental Assistant will work closely with dentists and hygienists to deliver high-quality dental services in a professional environment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including restorations, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging systems such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging equipment Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or other EMR platforms Maintain strict infection control standards using aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions Manage medical documentation and records in compliance with HIPAA regulations Assist with administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient flow as needed Support four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures Recognize and respond to medical emergencies by monitoring vital signs and understanding basic anatomy knowledge Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred, especially with general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or prosthodontics Proficiency with dental software such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, or similar EMR systems is highly desirable Knowledge of dental terminology, medical coding, and medical documentation standards is essential Experience with X-ray procedures, 3D scanners, and infection control protocols is beneficial Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and medical records management is required Previous exposure to pediatric dentistry or working with children is a plus Certification in dental assisting or related field is preferred but not mandatory for entry-level candidates willing to learn Job Type: Full-time Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Employee discount Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Work Location: In person
