Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. Experience with EMR systems, dental terminology, and infection control protocols is essential. The Dental Hygienist will play a vital role in promoting oral health and ensuring patient comfort during visits. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing procedures to maintain optimal oral health. Take and record vital signs, medical history, and assess patient needs prior to treatment. Assist with chairside procedures including providing support during general dentistry treatments and pediatric dentistry cases. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow infection control protocols including aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures to ensure a safe clinical environment. Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Assist with medical imaging procedures as needed while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to patient care and treatment planning. Ensure compliance with all dental office policies regarding medical coding, documentation review, and dental terminology. Experience Prior experience working in a dental office or clinic setting is required; experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable. Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and medical terminology is essential. Familiarity with dental assisting duties including chairside assisting, vital signs collection, and medical imaging enhances effectiveness in this role. Experience in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry environments will support successful integration into our team.
