Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing chairside assistance, ensuring infection control, and maintaining accurate medical and dental records. Prior experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and dental terminology. Experience in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, or general dentistry will be considered a plus. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality dental services while adhering to strict safety and infection control protocols. Duties Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop X-rays using medical imaging equipment and maintain proper radiation safety protocols Record vital signs and medical history information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures Educate patients on oral health care, post-operative instructions, and treatment plans Manage patient flow efficiently as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical documentation Maintain comprehensive medical records and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations Operate 3D scanners and other advanced dental technology to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning Support four-handed dentistry practices for improved efficiency and patient comfort Keep up-to-date with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and current industry best practices Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is advantageous Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control procedures, and aseptic techniques is required Experience with X-ray procedures, medical imaging, and vital signs measurement is essential Background in pediatric dentistry or working with pediatric patients is a plus Certification in dental assisting or related fields is desirable but not mandatory for entry-level candidates Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical documentation, and coding practices enhances performance in this role This position offers an engaging environment where you can grow your skills while contributing to exceptional patient care.
