Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Duluth, GA

Overview We are a private PPO dental office in Duluth Georgia seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. Hours are Monday-Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. Experience with Dentrix is preferred. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control protocols, and dental terminology is essential. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in maintaining a sterile environment and delivering high-quality dental services to our diverse patient base. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures including crowns, fillings, endo, dentures, partials, botox, etc. Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are met Take dental X-rays, and intraoral scans, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring patient safety and comfort Record vital signs, medical history, and other medical documentation accurately in Dentrix Manage patient flow efficiently by scheduling appointments and updating medical records while maintaining HIPAA compliance Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices using appropriate dental terminology Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control protocols Support administrative tasks such as answering the phone as a dental receptionist when required Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting Proficiency with EMR system Dentrix, or similar platforms Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques Familiarity with dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, medical coding, and medical documentation practices Experience with X-ray procedures, and intra oral scanners Ability to perform chairside assisting in general dentistry as well as specialized fields such as endodontics Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and clinical supplies Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred but not mandatory depending on state regulations This position is integral to delivering exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical team through technical expertise and compassionate service.
