Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Dental Assistant/Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team. In this multifaceted role, you will serve as a key leader in the clinic, overseeing daily clinical operations while providing exceptional front desk support. Responsibilities Lead chairside assisting during various dental procedures, including general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols. Manage the reception area by greeting patients warmly, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and maintaining accurate medical records using EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental materials, and ensuring all equipment is functioning correctly, including 3D scanners and medical imaging devices. Assist with taking vital signs and X-ray imaging to support diagnosis and treatment planning while maintaining patient comfort and safety. Maintain comprehensive medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure accurate coding of procedures for billing purposes. Support the dental team with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during procedures. Educate patients on oral health care practices, post-treatment instructions, and dental terminology to promote understanding and compliance. Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or Dental Receptionist in a busy dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with Epic or similar medical documentation platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control standards, and aseptic techniques. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and experience assisting with pediatric patients preferred. Proficiency in taking X-rays, operating medical imaging equipment, and performing vital signs assessments. Excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Certification in dental assisting or relevant training in medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and dental assisting techniques is highly desirable.
