Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality patient care by assisting the dentist during procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and efficient clinical environment. Experience with EMR systems and a strong understanding of dental terminology are essential. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth within general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics specialties. Responsibilities Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, ensuring aseptic technique and infection control standards are maintained Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Record vital signs and medical history, update medical documentation accurately in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic Educate patients on oral health care, post-operative instructions, and dental terminology Manage medical records and assist with medical coding to ensure proper documentation Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing dental receptionist duties when needed Maintain knowledge of anatomy relevant to dentistry and stay current with infection control protocols in the dental clinic setting Assist with pediatric dentistry procedures when necessary and adapt communication to pediatric patients Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; experience with medical imaging and 3D scanners is a plus Strong knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Familiarity with dental terminology, medical terminology, and dental assisting procedures including vital signs collection and chairside assisting Experience in general dentistry; additional experience in pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, or endodontics is advantageous Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively; knowledge of medical coding for billing purposes is beneficial Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with team members Knowledge of anatomy relevant to dental procedures and understanding of medical documentation standards This position is integral to providing exceptional patient care within a professional environment that values continuous learning and teamwork.
