Duties Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Take and evaluate vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to assess patient health status. Assist with medical imaging procedures like X-rays, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, documenting findings, and updating medical records accurately. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong oral health. Support dentists during procedures through chairside assisting using aseptic techniques and maintaining a sterile environment. Manage documentation review, ensuring all medical coding and recordkeeping comply with HIPAA regulations and dental office standards. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current certification to practice in a clinical setting. Proficiency in dental software systems such as Curve, Eaglesoft or Dentrix for scheduling, documentation, and record management. Experience in pediatric dentistry is highly desirable, with knowledge of pediatric-specific procedures and patient care approaches. Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Ability to perform general dentistry procedures with precision while maintaining excellent patient care standards. Prior experience working in dental clinics or offices utilizing EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and basic medical coding to ensure accurate documentation.
