Duties Assist dentists chairside during various procedures, including restorations, extractions, and cosmetic treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments, setting up dental tools, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly Take and develop dental X-rays using digital imaging technology such as 3D scanners and other medical imaging tools Manage patient records by updating medical documentation, medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy Support infection control protocols through aseptic technique and proper sterilization procedures to maintain a safe clinical environment Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care to enhance overall health outcomes Operate dental software systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic for scheduling, billing, and maintaining accurate medical coding and documentation Skills Proficiency with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient record keeping Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology to communicate effectively within the team Experience with chairside assisting in general dentistry as well as specialized areas like prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry Ability to perform vital signs assessment and assist with medical documentation accurately Skilled in X-ray techniques and handling medical imaging equipment safely and effectively Familiarity with infection control standards, aseptic techniques, and sterilization processes to ensure patient safety Excellent communication skills to serve as a dental receptionist when needed and support patient interactions confidently Embark on a fulfilling career where your expertise makes a real difference!
