Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional chairside assistance to dentists during various procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and maintaining a sterile environment. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental clinic setting. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus, as we cater to patients of all ages. We are looking for coverage on Tuesday and Wednesday! Spanish is a plus! Responsibilities Assist dentists during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards. Take and develop dental X-rays while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Maintain accurate medical documentation and patient records, adhering to HIPAA regulations. Manage patient flow and assist with scheduling appointments as needed, acting as a dental receptionist when required. Educate patients on oral health care and post-operative instructions. Perform vital signs checks and assist with medical imaging as necessary. Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient record management. Support the dentist in various specialties including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatrics. Skills Proficient in using EMR systems including Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for medical documentation. Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques essential for effective chairside assisting. Familiarity with pediatric dentistry practices and techniques is highly desirable. Experience in medical coding, medical records management, and understanding of HIPAA compliance. Ability to perform tasks related to infection control and maintain a clean clinical environment. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds. Capability to operate 3D scanners and other dental imaging equipment is an asset. Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred but not mandatory.
