Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Ayer, MA
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role requires strong knowledge of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to ensure optimal oral health outcomes. The Dental Hygienist will collaborate closely with dentists and dental assistants to deliver comprehensive dental services while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. 4 day work week, no evenings or weekends. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, scaling, root planing, and polishing procedures to maintain oral health. Conduct patient assessments including vital signs, medical history review, and oral examinations. Assist with chairside procedures such as four-handed dentistry and CBCT imaging. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records using Dentrix. Ensure infection control standards are followed through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization procedures. Review medical records for relevant health information impacting dental treatment plans. Stay current with dental terminology, medical coding, and documentation review practices to ensure compliance with industry standards. Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of practice. Proven experience in general dentistry. Proficiency with Dentrix. Knowledge of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, and sterilization procedures. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, medical terminology, and documentation review processes. Ability to perform chairside assisting tasks including four-handed dentistry and anatomy knowledge related to oral structures as needed. Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
