Overview We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of high-quality dental care by assisting the dentist and dental hygienist during procedures, managing patient care, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Softdent and Epic is preferred, along with a solid understanding of HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols. This role offers an excellent opportunity for growth within general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics specialties. Duties Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Assist dental hygienists with patient flow, x-rays and procedures Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials using aseptic techniques Take and develop dental X-rays and medical imaging to aid diagnosis Manage patient records accurately within EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards Perform chairside assisting including four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency Monitor vital signs and assist in medical documentation for patient health history updates Educate patients on oral health care and post-treatment instructions Maintain infection control standards and sterilization procedures in accordance with OSHA guidelines Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records when needed Utilize knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding to ensure precise communication and documentation Qualifications Proven experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting; experience with dental clinic operations highly preferred Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic is strongly desired Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and accurately Familiarity with dental specialties including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and general dentistry procedures Strong understanding of dental terminology, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members Certification in dental assisting or relevant training program completion preferred Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position is integral to providing exceptional patient care while supporting the clinical team.
