Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in Ballwin, MO
**Looking for a hygienist for 2 days a week with potential to expand hours in the future** Looking for an enthusiastic, outgoing dental hygienist who focuses on patient needs and the patient's overall well-being. Responsibilities Ensure patients feel as comfortable as possible before their examination Sterilize dental instruments properly Conduct initial mouth screenings and check oral health history Identify conditions like gingivitis or periodontitis Clean and help protect patientsâ teeth (e.g. remove plaque or apply fluoride) Educate patients of all ages on proper teeth care (by demonstrating, for example, good brushing techniques) Give instructions to patients after cleanings or other dental procedures Take X-rays or dental impressions Maintain documentation and charts on each patient Monitor hygiene supplies Skills Proven experience as Dental Hygienist or similar role In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations in this profession (e.g. HIPAA) Experience in preparing and maintaining dental equipment Outstanding communication skills A patient and friendly personality Attention to detail Stamina to meet the physical demands of the job Diploma in Dental Hygiene; Masterâs is a plus Valid MO licence to practice Job Type: Part-time Pay: From $45.00 per hour Expected hours: 12 â 20 per week Benefits: 401(k) Employee discount Paid time off Work Location: In person
