Job Summary New graduates are welcome! We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care, performing dental cleanings, and assisting with various clinical procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control, and patient assessment to ensure optimal oral health outcomes. Experience with EMR systems and proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix are highly valued. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dental team to deliver comprehensive care in a safe, hygienic, and compassionate environment. Responsibilities Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth to prevent oral disease Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical history and vital signs Take and develop medical imaging such as X-rays while adhering to infection control protocols Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in EMR systems, ensuring HIPAA compliance Review medical records and documentation for accuracy and completeness Support infection control procedures using aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination Provide chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures including pediatric dentistry when applicable Monitor and record vital signs, medical coding, and other relevant health information Ensure the clinical environment remains sterile, organized, and compliant with all health regulations Requirements Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with state regulations Proficiency in dental software such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix; experience with EMR systems preferred Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and medical imaging techniques Experience in pediatric dentistry and general dentistry is highly desirable Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, medical coding, and documentation review processes Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations including pediatrics Ability to perform chairside assisting using aseptic techniques in a fast-paced environment Prior experience working in dental office or clinic settings is preferred Knowledge of medical records management, vital signs measurement, and medical terminology is advantageous This position offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care within a professional team dedicated to excellence in dentistry.
