Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional chairside assistance, ensure infection control, and support the overall efficiency of the clinic. This role requires a strong understanding of dental procedures, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with dental software systems. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care across general dentistry. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorations, extractions, and root canals with chairside assistance and aseptic techniques. Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available. Take dental X-rays using digital imaging technology. Record patient vital signs and medical history accurately while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Manage patient records and documentation efficiently, including medical coding and updating medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral hygiene practices using appropriate dental terminology. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient flow as a dental receptionist, and maintaining organized medical documentation. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment to ensure patient safety. Support the dental team with four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency during treatments. Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting. Knowledge of dental software applications including digital X-ray. Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, aseptic technique, and anatomy knowledge relevant to dentistry. Ability to perform X-ray procedures accurately while ensuring patient safety. Strong understanding of dental terminology across general dentistry. Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about treatments and oral health practices. Certification in radiography or X-ray technology is highly desirable.
