Job Opening: Registered Dental Assistant Job Description Hackettstown Family Dental is excited to announce an open position for a Registered Dental Assistant. Duties and Responsibilities Assist dentists and dental hygienists during various treatment procedures, including but not limited to, crowns, fillings, extractions, impressions, temporaries, and root canals. Set up and breakdown of operatory post-treatment. Manage dental equipment: sterilize and disinfect instruments, set up instrument trays, prepare materials, and assist with dental procedures as necessary. Handle patient management duties, including but not limited to, greeting patients, clarifying treatment procedures, and managing patient records and follow-ups. Ensure that all practice policies, procedures, and safety standards are strictly adhered to. Provide patients with instructions for oral care post-surgery or other dental treatment procedures. Take, expose, and mount digital dental diagnostic x-rays. Maintain a clean and orderly dental office by implementing practices that comply with infection control policies of the dental office. Assist in the ordering and maintaining dental supplies and materials. Engage in patient education and promotion of routine dental health care products as appropriate. Perform administrative and office tasks such as maintaining records and scheduling appointments as required. Requirements Current and active registration as a Dental Assistant in New Jersey. Minimum of an Associate's degree in Dental Assisting or a certificate from an accredited dental assisting program. Valid X-ray licensure for New Jersey. Current CPR certification. Exceptional organizational and communication skills. Strong knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization methods, and infection control protocols. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience in using electronic patient management software. Proven track record of maintaining professionalism and a calm demeanor in a busy practice setting. Bilingual abilities, particularly in Spanish, are considered highly advantageous.
