Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Full-Time Dental Assistant specializing in Pediatric dentistry to join our compassionate dental team of assistants. This role offers an excellent opportunity to support young patients in a friendly, professional environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, familiarity with pediatric dental procedures, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient care. Experience with EMR systems such as OpenDental, Dentrix is preferred, along with knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation practices. This position is vital in assisting the dentist during procedures, ensuring patient comfort, and managing dental records efficiently. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. X Ray is preferred. Duties Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments following aseptic techniques Take and record vital signs and medical history for young patients Capture and process dental X-rays and scans accurately (with X Ray license) Manage patient flow as a dental receptionist when needed, including scheduling appointments and updating medical records Maintain detailed medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on dental terminology, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment care Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed throughout all procedures Operate dental imaging equipment and assist with prosthodontics, endodontics, or other specialized treatments as required Support general dentistry functions while focusing on pediatric-specific needs Experience Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is highly preferred Familiarity with EMR systems such as Dentrix, OpenDental is advantageous Knowledge of pediatric dentistry procedures and terminology is essential Experience with medical imaging, X-ray techniques, and 3D scanners is desirable Strong understanding of infection control protocols and aseptic techniques in a clinical environment Ability to perform chairside assisting efficiently while maintaining patient comfort and safety Knowledge of dental coding, dental records management, and HIPAA compliance is beneficial Prior experience working with children in a healthcare setting will be considered an asset This full-time role offers an engaging work environment dedicated to providing exceptional pediatric dental care.
