Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, assisting with dental procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Experience with EMR systems and a strong understanding of dental terminology are highly valued. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment focused on delivering high-quality dental services across general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Duties Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize dental instruments following infection control protocols Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including chairside assisting, medical imaging, and vital signs collection Operate digital X-ray equipment and 3D scanners while maintaining safety standards such as aseptic technique Manage patient records using EMR systems like Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic, ensuring accurate documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations Educate patients on dental procedures, post-operative care, and oral health practices Take and develop X-rays; interpret basic dental images for diagnostic purposes Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments and managing medical documentation Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control standards Collaborate with the team on pediatric dentistry cases and assist with specialized procedures in prosthodontics and endodontics Skills Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic; familiarity with medical coding and documentation is a plus Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Experience with chairside assisting techniques including four-handed dentistry and aseptic procedures Ability to operate X-ray equipment safely; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous Strong understanding of infection control practices and sterilization protocols Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages, including pediatrics Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Familiarity with pediatric dentistry concepts and general dentistry procedures is preferred Join our team to contribute to providing compassionate dental care while advancing your skills in a supportive professional setting.
