Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental practices, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow. Prepare and maintain the dental clinic environment, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning the treatment room between patients Organize instruments and materials Take and record vital signs to monitor patient health before and during treatments. Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures. Document medical histories and maintain accurate medical documentation for each patient Conduct X-ray imaging as required, adhering to safety protocols. Assist with surgical procedures, including the preparation of materials and instruments Assist with sedation procedures, including reviewing pre-operative instructions with patient, post-operative instructions with patient escort, and maintaining safety protocols Educate patients on pre-operative, post-operative care and general oral hygiene practices Assist with answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and taking payments Qualifications Previous experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role is required Knowledge of dentistry practices, including medical coding and documentation. Friendly, hospitable attitude towards patients Proficiency in taking X-rays and understanding radiographic techniques is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Clear communication with team about availability.
