Overview We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Dental Assistant with X-Ray Certification to join our compassionate dental team. X ray license is required, this role is intended to started as part time but full time will be available in the future. Part time days are expected to be Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday with split location between Mays Landing and Linwood offices. This role involves providing exceptional chairside assistance in a pediatric dental setting, ensuring patient comfort, safety, and efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with EMR systems, dental imaging, and pediatric dentistry procedures, contributing to a positive experience for our young patients and their families. A strong understanding of infection control, HIPAA compliance, and dental terminology is essential to maintain the highest standards of care. Responsibilities Assist the dentist during pediatric dental procedures, including exams, restorations, and preventive treatments Take and develop dental X-rays following safety protocols and using medical imaging Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments and materials, maintaining aseptic techniques and infection control standards Record patient medical history, vital signs, and dental information accurately in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft Educate young patients on oral hygiene practices using appropriate dental terminology and pediatric dentistry techniques Manage medical documentation and records while ensuring HIPAA compliance Support administrative tasks including scheduling appointments as a dental receptionist when needed Assist with four-handed dentistry to improve efficiency during procedures Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment following infection control protocols Recognize and respond to patient needs promptly to ensure comfort and safety during visits Experience Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting, preferably with pediatrics or general dentistry Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable Certification in dental radiography (X-ray) is required; experience with medical imaging tools. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, medical coding, and medical documentation practices Familiarity with dental assisting procedures including chairside assisting, taking vital signs, and infection control techniques Understanding of dental terminology related to pediatrics, prosthodontics, endodontics, and anatomy knowledge relevant to pediatric patients Experience with aseptic technique and maintaining a sterile environment for procedures This position offers an opportunity to work in a supportive environment dedicated to improving children's oral health through compassionate care and professional excellence.
