Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Tulsa, OK

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Assistant to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will support the clinical team by providing exceptional patient care, ensuring smooth operations within the dental office, and maintaining high standards of infection control and patient safety. This role offers an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics. Experience with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, and Epic is highly valued, along with proficiency in medical documentation and records management. The Dental Assistant will play a vital role in assisting with chairside procedures, taking vital signs, and supporting the use of advanced dental technology including 3D scanners and medical imaging equipment. Responsibilities Assist dentists during various procedures including restorative, endodontic, prosthodontic, and pediatric treatments Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available Take and develop dental radiographs (X-ray) while adhering to HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols Support patient care by taking vital signs and reviewing medical history for accurate documentation Operate EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or Epic to update patient records efficiently Maintain a sterile environment using aseptic techniques and proper infection control procedures Educate patients on dental procedures, post-treatment care, and oral health practices Manage medical imaging processes including 3D scanning when applicable Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing medical records as needed Support four-handed dentistry to improve workflow efficiency during procedures Requirements Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic or similar platforms Experience with X-ray procedures, sterilization techniques, infection control standards, and aseptic technique Ability to perform chairside assisting across various specialties including general dentistry and pediatrics Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical documentation Certification in radiography or X-ray certification preferred Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages including pediatrics Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail This position is integral to providing comprehensive dental care while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
