Dental Hygienist -- For Teens! - Kona Kids - Portland, OR

Tired of the rushed production focused style of dental hygiene? Has your back, neck and wrists all had enough of the 60-90 min SRPs? Looking for ways to expand your procedure mix to add variety to your clinical day? Our Hygienists at Kona Kids Dentistry treat a variety of middle school and teenager patients in a fun and controlled atmosphere. In teenage pediatrics, there is no such thing as tenacious smoker’s calculus, dangerously repetitive hand movements and patients with COPD that only can lean back 30 degrees. Pediatrics for the win with short days and long healthy careers! :-) Its more busy orthodontic-style office rather than the crying ‘pedo’ of the old days. We see kids 0-26 with the majority of hygiene patients 11+. We are not a huge volume practice, our teenager patients get a minimum of one hour appointment with the dental hygienist, more if they are in full ortho. Nitrous and Local Anesthetic Endorsements very much preferred but not required. Kona Kids Dentistry is prevention-focused office serving all ages of children including teenagers since 2004. We are looking for an upbeat, dependable and focused dental hygiene professional to help provide compassionate and enthusiastic care. We are privately owned, not corporate dentistry. We are proud to be evidence-based and patient experience focused. Though we are seeking a 2-3 days per week role to fill, we work 8-5 Monday -Thursday and always take a one hour lunch. Through teamwork and good systems, we run on time with 99% of our appointments. Sadly, our office has suffered a fire in October but we are rebuilding with all new equipment and office layout -- with cavitrons plugged into all of our ops chairs! In the meantime we are working out of the OAGD clinic at the iHeart radio building with ADEC chairs and and open floor plan. Happy to chat about this transition back into the brand new office this fall! We are flexible about what days best meet your needs but are looking for 1-2 or 3 days per week.
