Permanent Dental Assistant Job in Pottstown, PA

Job Summary Weâre looking for a friendly, reliable Orthodontic Assistant to join our pediatric dental team in Pottstown! This is a part-time position (Mondays and Tuesdays) with possible full time and requires an active X-ray certification . The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting orthodontists in various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Duties Assist orthodontists during procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow and patient comfort. Take and develop X-rays, as well as perform medical imaging as needed. Conduct chairside assisting, including four-handed dentistry techniques. Monitor vital signs and assist in the management of pediatric patients. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care. Operate 3D scanners for orthodontic impressions and treatment planning. Take X-rays and impressions Help with sterilization and keeping the flow of the day running smoothly Provide a positive, welcoming experience for kids and families Requirements X-ray certified (required) Previous experience in dental assisting or orthodontic settings is preferred. Proficient knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and aseptic techniques. Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly desirable. Understanding of infection control protocols and medical documentation practices. Ability to perform chairside assisting effectively while maintaining a positive patient experience. Experience with pediatric dentistry is a plus; must be comfortable working with children. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and patient information. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
