Duties Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical history reviews, and documenting findings accurately in electronic medical records (EMR systems) Assist with chairside procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency and patient comfort Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions Support pediatric dentistry cases by applying specialized techniques suitable for children and adolescents Ensure strict infection control and aseptic techniques are followed to maintain a safe clinical environment Review medical records and documentation for accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and dental terminology standards Take and interpret dental radiographs (medical imaging) as needed for diagnosis and treatment planning Monitor patient vital signs during procedures to ensure safety and comfort at all times Assist with administrative tasks such as updating medical coding, reviewing documentation, and managing dental records Qualifications Valid Dental Hygiene license in accordance with state regulations Proven experience in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, or dental clinic settings with familiarity in EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix preferred Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and aseptic techniques Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively and communicate clearly Ability to perform dental assisting duties including chairside assisting seamlessly in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with medical coding, documentation review, and HIPAA compliance standards Knowledge of medical terminology and ability to review medical records accurately Prior experience working with pediatric patients is a plus but not required Join us in making a difference through compassionate care!
