Permanent Dental Hygienist Job in White Plains, NY
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality dental care and education to patients, ensuring their comfort and safety during dental procedures. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with the dentist and other team members to deliver exceptional patient experiences while adhering to all infection control protocols. Responsibilities Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments. Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories and performing oral examinations. Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and the importance of preventive care. Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques. Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix software, including medical coding as necessary. Implement aseptic techniques and infection control measures to ensure a safe environment for patients. Provide support in pediatric dentistry, addressing the unique needs of younger patients. Stay current with advancements in dental hygiene practices and maintain knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy. Requirements Valid state license to practice as a Dental Hygienist. Strong knowledge of infection control procedures and aseptic techniques. Experience with Dentrix software is preferred. Familiarity with medical coding is a plus. Ability to assist in pediatric dentistry, demonstrating patience and understanding when working with children. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively educate patients on oral health practices. Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.
