Responsibilities Prepare treatment rooms with necessary instruments, supplies, and sterilized equipment to ensure seamless patient care. Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry. Take and develop dental X-rays, including 3D scans when applicable, ensuring proper technique and patient comfort. Manage patient medical records accurately using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix while maintaining HIPAA compliance to protect patient privacy. Provide chairside assistance by handling dental terminology, aseptic techniques, and maintaining infection control standards throughout treatments. Educate patients on oral health practices and post-treatment care while documenting vital signs and medical history details. Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing medical documentation, and coordinating with the dental reception team to optimize clinic flow. Requirements Proven experience working in a dental clinic environment with knowledge of medical terminology, medical coding, and dental assisting procedures. Familiarity with EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix; experience with Epic or other medical documentation platforms is a plus. Strong understanding of infection control protocols, aseptic techniques, anatomy knowledge, and dental terminology. Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and efficiently; experience with 3D scanners is advantageous. Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices along with the ability to work effectively in pediatric settings. Excellent communication skills to interact confidently with patients of all ages including pediatrics; experience as a dental receptionist is beneficial. Certification in chairside assisting or dental assisting from an accredited program; additional certifications in endodontics or prosthodontics are preferred.
