Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Associate Dentist for a part time position (2-3 days per week) to join our closely knit dental team in a private dental practice, a block away from the beach. There is a potential for this position to grow into a full time role in future, if so desired by a suitable candidate. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of dental procedures, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining accurate medical documentation. Responsibilities Provide comprehensive dental care including bread & butter general dentistry procedures, endodontics (anterior teeth root canal therapy), prosthodontics, surgical dental extractions. Conduct thorough patient assessments utilizing dental terminology and medical terminology to diagnose conditions accurately. Perform dental fabrication tasks, including crowns, bridges, and other restorations, ensuring precision and quality. Utilize dental imaging techniques while adhering to infection control standards and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Maintain detailed medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and document all treatments using electronic health record systems such as Epic, Eaglesoft, or Dentrix. Apply infection control protocols and sterilization procedures consistently to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a safe clinical environment. Educate patients on oral health practices, treatment options, and post-procedure care to promote long-term dental wellness. Collaborate with team members in four-handed dentistry setups to optimize efficiency and patient comfort during procedures. Stay current with advancements in dental technology and techniques to enhance patient care quality. Experience Valid state license to practice dentistry as a Licensed Associate Dentist with current credentials. Proven experience in general dentistry with additional expertise in general oral surgery, endodontics, or prosthodontics preferred. Prior experience working with electronic health record systems such as Eaglesoft, or Dentrix is highly desirable. Demonstrated knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge related to oral structures, and infection control standards. Experience in performing dental extractions, root canal therapy, dental fabrication processes, and utilizing medical imaging tools effectively. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations regarding patient privacy and medical documentation practices. Previous employment in a dental office or clinic setting that emphasizes patient care excellence is preferred.
