The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in patient care and dental procedures, with expertise in preventive dentistry and clinical support. As a Dental Hygienist, you will play a vital role in maintaining patient health through thorough cleanings, assessments, and education while ensuring compliance with all safety and infection control protocols. Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and calculus. Conduct initial patient assessments by taking vital signs and reviewing medical histories to ensure safe treatment planning. Assist dentists during various procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency. Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options. Take and develop dental radiographs (medical imaging) while adhering to aseptic techniques and radiation safety standards. Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment notes, and medical histories in electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a sterile environment. Review medical records for completeness and accuracy, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Support the dental team with chairside assisting during general dentistry procedures involving anatomy knowledge and dental terminology. Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and record management. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques. Experience with pediatric dentistry and working with pediatric patients is highly desirable. Ability to perform patient care tasks including vital signs measurement and patient assessment effectively. Familiarity with medical coding related to dental procedures for accurate billing and documentation. Excellent communication skills to educate patients clearly about their oral health needs. Prior experience in dental office or clinic environments demonstrating proficiency in chairside assisting and general dental procedures.
