Overview Join our dynamic dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist at HOMETOWN FAMILY DENTISTRY and become a vital part of delivering exceptional patient care! In this energized role, you will utilize your expertise to promote oral health, perform thorough cleanings, and support comprehensive dental treatments. The hours are: MONDAYS - THURSDAYS 8am to 6pm. Responsibilities Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup. Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and reviewing medical records to ensure safe treatment planning. Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and the importance of maintaining healthy habits. Assist dentists during procedures with chairside assistance, including handling dental instruments and managing medical imaging. Maintain accurate documentation of patient visits, treatment notes, and medical records in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix. Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment. Monitor patient comfort throughout procedures and provide compassionate care tailored to pediatric dentistry when applicable. Requirements Valid state licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist with current credentials. Proven experience in dental office settings, preferably with exposure to general dentistry and pediatric dentistry. Proficiency with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for documentation review and medical coding. Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control practices, and HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy. Ability to perform dental procedures including scaling, polishing, fluoride application, and taking radiographs with medical imaging expertise. Excellent patient care skills with an emphasis on pediatrics when necessary; ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations. Knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to review medical records accurately for safe treatment planning. Familiarity with four-handed dentistry techniques to optimize efficiency during procedures.
