General Dentist with Pediatric Experience

Duties

• Perform comprehensive dental examinations, including patient assessment and diagnosis using medical imaging and dental terminology
• Deliver a wide range of general dentistry services such as dental cleanings, fillings, stainless steel crowns, pulpotomy, and behavior management.
• Conduct pediatric-specific procedures including dental extractions, sealants, and preventive care tailored for children and adolescents
• Utilize advanced dental technology and aseptic techniques to ensure infection control and maintain high standards of patient safety
• Collaborate with team members to develop individualized treatment plans, ensuring clear communication about procedures and medical documentation
• Manage medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of patient information
• Perform oral surgery procedures with precision, including tooth extractions and other surgical interventions as needed
• Apply expertise in endodontics and prosthodontics to restore optimal function and aesthetics for patients requiring complex restorative work
• Maintain proficiency in dental office software such as Open Dental for scheduling, documentation, and billing purposes
• Educate patients on oral health practices, preventive care strategies, and post-treatment instructions to promote long-term oral health

Qualifications

• DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) or DMD (Doctor of Dental Medicine) degree from an accredited institution
• Valid state dental license with current certification to practice dentistry
• Proven experience in general dentistry with a focus on pediatric dentistry preferred
• Strong knowledge of dental terminology, medical terminology, anatomy, infection control protocols, and HIPAA compliance
• Proficiency in dental imaging techniques and familiarity with dental fabrication processes
• Experience using electronic health record systems such as Open Dental is highly desirable
• Ability to perform dental extractions, root canal therapy, endodontics, prosthodontics, and oral surgery procedures effectively
• Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs compassionately and thoroughly
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and infection control standards within a clinical setting
• Strong communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate seamlessly with team members
